Who is Tom Davis?
ANSWER: Tom Davis is a performance coach and engineer with over 20 years of experience in the gym and a 13-year background in corporate engineering. Since 2020 he has coached full-time, working with a deliberately small roster of driven professionals who are serious about optimizing their health, performance, and longevity. His approach is built on data — bloodwork analysis, sleep architecture, HRV tracking, stress physiology, and evidence-based supplementation — layered on top of intelligent training and precision nutrition. No templates. No guesswork. Just a system engineered specifically for you.
What is your coaching philosophy?
Answer: I believe in a holistic, science-backed approach. I emphasize small, sustainable changes over quick fixes and integrate nutrition, sleep, stress management, supplementation, and movement into personalized coaching. Clients benefit from my dedicated support and attention to detail that is curated just for them.
What does a bloodwork-driven protocol actually look like?
Answer: It starts before we touch a training program or nutrition plan. We look at a comprehensive panel - well beyond what a standard physical covers. Testosterone and free testosterone. SHBG. Full thyroid panel, not just TSH. Ferritin. Fasting insulin. Homocysteine. Inflammatory markers including hsCRP. Vitamin D. And depending on your situation, additional markers relevant to your specific goals. From that data we identify what's actually limiting your performance — whether that's hormonal, metabolic, inflammatory, or nutritional. Then we build the protocol around fixing the root cause, not the symptom. Everything else — training load, nutrition targets, supplementation, recovery strategies — gets calibrated to what your biology actually needs, not what a generic program assumes. This is what separates precision coaching from guesswork.

Can travel within Pinellas County or Hillsborough County for in-home or private gym sessions. (I’m currently reaching out to other gyms in the Bay area to gain approval to train at their locations. Stay tuned for those updates!)

What about nutrition guidance—can you provide a nutrition plan or guide?
Answer: I offer nutrition coaching as part of the coaching package, but no longer as a standalone option.

I already train consistently. Why would I need a coach?
Answer: Because consistency without precision is just spinning your wheels faster. Most self-directed trainees — even experienced ones — have significant blind spots. Suboptimal recovery. Nutritional gaps their bloodwork reveals but they'd never guess. Training intensities that are either too low to drive adaptation or too high to allow it. Sleep patterns quietly degrading their hormonal output. What a coach provides isn't motivation — you already have that. It's an outside perspective backed by data, a system that removes guesswork, and accountability to a standard you might not hold yourself to alone. The difference between good results and exceptional ones is almost always in the details most people never look at.
Do you work with injuries?
Answer: Yes, but it depends. I’ve had many injuries myself over my career and with those has come lots of 1:1 education with chiropractors, PT’s, and orthos and I’m confident with my abilities to rehab CERTAIN injuries through proper training, nutrition, and supplementation. But there are some injuries that are better left to the professionals to deal with!
